About Mental Health Updates

UFP Mental Health Updates is an exciting educational service brought to you by User Friendly Psychiatry Ltd. The philosophy is simple - practical evidence based workshops to facilitate a more informed mental health workforce.

Research is the foundation to evidence based practice, however there is, at times, a huge gap between the latest research and the eventual practical application. For research to make a difference in mental health, it should be meaningful but also inform the work undertaken at ‘grass roots level to improve the user experience.

This is why UFP Mental Health Updates has a commitment to source key researchers and eminent commentators in the field of mental health and bring them to you. We aim to bridge the gap between research and practical application.

We hope you can join us at one of our workshops and take part in an enjoyable but informative and practical day. Our workshops are open to any mental health professional, including Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, Psychiatrists.

We aim to grade our workshops dependent on the core knowledge required prior to attendance and the grading system is in the table below. This table is advisory and is to enable delegates to make effective choices on the workshops they wish to attend.

Level 1 - Advanced It is advisable that the candidate would have a core professional qualification and at least 2 years post qualifying experience in the field (practicing autonomously and / or possibly supervising others). This level would assume a level of pre-existing knowledge and experience.

Level 2 - Intermediate It is advisable that the candidate would have a core professional qualification and is seeking to advance their knowledge in a given area.
