Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is supported by over 3 decades of clinical research trials that demonstrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has improved significant outcomes when compared to other talking therapies. It is not suitable for all types of problems, however and we can assist you in making the right decisions for therapy.

NHS waiting lists for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy are at an all time high and in some areas waiting lists stand at 9 months, if available at all User Friendly Psychiatry provides cognitive behaviour therapy for people who wish to seek treatment without the long wait.

We believe here at UFP that it is important that you make the right choice when deciding on your therapy, so we have devised a little check list to help you:

CBT IS NOT for you if:

  • You want only to talk about your problems
  • You do not wish to undertake an active part in your treatment
  • You want the therapist to “fix” your problems
  • You want a cure
  • You believe it is a magic wand treatment that will solve all your problems

CBT IS for you, if:

  • You want to problem solve and understand your problem
  • You want to manage your problem more effectively
  • You are willing to give it a try
  • You want to be an active partner in your treatment
  • You don’t just want to talk about, you want to try new methods of behaving and thinking
